Information Creating a Lawsuit

[Courts]

The courts handle a wide range of cases. You can file a lawsuit against another citizen, a company, or even the Government. Lawsuits can be either criminal or civil in nature, covering issues from allegations of fraud to constitutional challenges. Before filing a lawsuit, it is strongly recommended that you seek legal advice from a lawyer.

Important: Do not file a lawsuit over someone breaking a rule!

Step 1: Starting a Lawsuit​

To initiate a lawsuit, create a thread with the following format:

• Title: "[Plaintiff] v. [Defendant] or [Company], sometimes [Republic of Andorn]"
• Prefix: "Case: Pending"

Court Jurisdiction​

Review the constitution to ensure you file your lawsuit in the correct court, either Federal or Superior.

Case Filing​

• Civil Actions: Can be filed by any individual.
• Criminal Actions: Restricted to members of the Department of Justice.

When filing a case, you must use the provided template, available [below].

Responding to a Lawsuit​

If you are summoned to court, it is recommended to follow the designated formats for your response, which can be found [below "Answer to Complaint"].

If you believe the lawsuit is baseless or incorrect, file a motion to dismiss. If you are defending yourself, use the "answer" format.
