A Bill to Establish Procedures for a Special Election
Special Elections Amendment



In The House of Representatives of the Republic of Andorn
April 15th, 2025.

Representative xtub12345 and Representatives Maxterpiece, and TheReal42Person in agreeance with this bill’s contents, hereby recommend this bill to the House for their consideration.​


Section 1: Short Title and Enactment

Short Title: This bill may be cited as the “Special Elections Amendment of 2025 “

Section 2: Reasons
1) There currently exists no mechanism for a Special Election to occur when a vacancy within an elected office occurs.

Section 3: Definitions
1) Special Election: An election that takes place outside of normal constitutionally mandated election periods.
2) Vacancy: When a seat within the legislature is vacated due to any legal mechanism or resignation.

Section 4: Amendments
1) Article Two: The Legislature shall be amended from:

1. The Legislative branch of the nation shall be called the Congress. It will be a bicameral legislature composed of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Seats in the House of Representatives shall be set at 7, while the Seats in the Senate shall be set at 4. The number of Senators and Representatives can be changed through a constitutional amendment to this section, and this section only.

To

The number of Senators and Representatives can be changed through a constitutional amendment to this section, and this section only.

2. In the event a vacancy within any chamber of congress arises, the Department of State will host a Special Election to fill the vacancy.
a) The Special Election shall be conducted as follows:
a. A 48 hour registration period.
b. A 24 hour voting period.
b) In the event that multiple vacancies arise, the vacancies shall be filled by one special election, with the highest polling being assigned one of the vacant seats.
c). In the event that multiple chambers have vacancies, the seats shall be filled by separate special elections
a. In the event that multiple vacancies arise, the same procedure in 2.b shall occur, except 2 special elections, one for each chamber.
